The town’s bi-weekly farmers’ market is truly a sight to behold, with a diverse range of specialist produce on offer, even including locally-farmed Bison, Goat and Ostrich meat.

Also held twice a week, Melton Street Market is known as the oldest and finest traditional market in the country, while a Cattle and Sheep Market, an Antique Fair and the beautiful Victorian Christmas Market are all regular fixtures of the town.



Commuters will benefit from excellent transport connections in the area, with easy access to major towns and cities, via both road and rail.

Melton Mowbray boasts close proximity to several important roads, including the M1, M69 and A1, as well as the A46, which just 10 miles away. Both Leicester city centre and Loughborough can be reached in under 30 minutes – via the A607 and B676 respectively –while Nottinghamshire is around 45 minutes away via the A46.

Those who prefer to travel by train will find Melton Mowbray Station a short 5-minute drive from Roundhouse Park, offering regular services to Birmingham New Street, Cambridge and Kettering, passing several major destinations en route.
