Swinfen Vale joins the growing Hugglescote community on the southern edges of Coalville, Leicestershire.

The Hugglescote housing developments are well catered for by a number of nearby businesses, shops, and eateries, with planning granted for a school and an additional supermarket.

Locals enjoy the rural surroundings of Leicestershire’s peaceful countryside, plus benefit from useful commuter links to nearby towns and cities, namely Leicester, Nottingham, and Tamworth.

This development falls under the administration of North West Leicestershire District Council and Leicestershire County Council.

Residents of Swinfen Vale have natural surroundings on the doorstep. The River Sense runs to the north of the development, while Penny Wakefield Community Woodland is six minutes’ walk away.

Sence Valley Forest Park is three miles away – a 60-hectare country park with woodland, meadows, and wildlife habitats, offering stunning routes. The park is also home to fishing spots and horse-riding trails.

The surrounding Leicestershire countryside is littered with sites of historical interest. Calke Abbey and Stoneywell are the closest of a number of National Trust destinations nearby. Swinfen Vale is a 20-minute drive from Ambion Farm and the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, home to one of Britain’s most important battle sites.

Leicester is around 11 miles away, where residents can find museums, art galleries, music venues, theatres, and sporting stadia in abundance. Plus, unique destinations like Boost Trampoline Park and Ninja Warrior UK Adventure are on offer.

Hugglescote and the surrounding areas cater for children with a selection of well-regarded schools, making Swinfen Vale ideal for those with young families.

Ellistown Community Primary School is a nine-minute walk away, the closest school to the development, with an on-site school in development. Stanton under Bardon Community Primary School and Hugglescote Community Primary School are just two of numerous options, both within an eight-minute drive.

For those of secondary school age, The Newbridge School is a six-minute drive away, and commutable via public transport. South Charnwood High School is four miles away.

The DHL bus stop in Bardon Hill is a 12-minute walk away and provides journeys to Leicester in 38 minutes. Other destinations include Coalville and Swadlincote.

Leicester train station is a 28-minute drive away and offers the most comprehensive travel options in the region. Destinations include Nottingham, Birmingham New Street, St Pancras International, and Stansted Airport.

Motorists are a two-minute drive from the A511, and a four-minute drive of the M1. From this junction of the M1, the 100-mile journey to London’s North Circular Road takes approximately one hour and 35 minutes.

East Midlands Airport is a 17-minute drive away from the development, serving flights and connections worldwide.

Swinfen Vale has a couple of popular convenience stores around 15 minutes’ walk away, plus a choice of well-known supermarkets within a 10-minute drive.

Central Coalville is around three miles away from the development, and offers a number of stores, a library, a choice of pubs, and two retail parks. The centre also offers a collection of restaurants and takeaways, with options including Italian, Turkish, and Greek.

Leicester is a 23-minute drive away, offering comprehensive shopping and dining in historic surroundings. The Lanes has independent vendors and eateries behind colourful Victorian shop fronts, and the city’s numerous arcades offer alternative and unique stores.

Leicester Market is one of the largest covered outdoor markets in Europe and provides a wide range of stalls for bargain purchases. The city is also host to an array of cafés, restaurants, pubs, and bars, offering award-winning cuisine, individual experiences, and reliable household names.
